Translation:O Prophet, has the story of Abraham's honored guests reached you? |

Translation:When they came to him, they said, "Peace to you." He said, "Peace to you too, unfamiliar folks they are!" |

Translation:Then he went quietly to his family and brought out a fatted (roasted) calf |

Translation:and laid it before the guests. He said, "Will you not eat?" |

Translation:Then he became afraid of them. They said, "Be not afraid!" And they gave him the good news of the birth of a son, possessing knowledge. |

Translation:Hearing this his wife came forward, crying, and she smote her face, and said, "An old woman, barren!" |

Translation:"Thus has said your Lord," they replied, "He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.†|

Translation:Abraham said," O Divine Messengers, what is your special errand?†|

Translation:They said, "We have been sent to a guilty people, |

Translation:to rain upon them stones of baked clay, |

Translation:which are marked with your Lord for the transgressors." |

Translation:Then We evacuated all those who were believers in that settlement, |

Translation:and We did not find in it any house of the Muslims except one. |

Translation:Then We left there only one sign for those who fear the painful torment. |

Translation:(And there is a sign for you) in the story of Moses. When We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority, |

Translation:he showed arrogance on account of his might, and said, "He is a sorcerer or a madman." |

Translation:Consequently, We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea, aid he became blameworthy. |

Translation:And (for you is a sign) in `Ad when We sent upon them a blighting wind |

Translation:which made rotten everything that it blew on. |

Translation:And (for you is a sign) in Thamud when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a while." |

Translation:But in spite of this warning they defied the Command of their Lord. Consequently, they were overtaken by a thunderbolt even while they looked on. |

Translation:Then they could neither stand up nor were able to save themselves. |

Translation:And before them We destroyed the people of Noah because they were a sinful people. |
